The theme of this year’s conference, which takes place every two years in a different city, is Supporting a Healthy World.

“There has never been a more exciting time to showcase how biotechnology is revolutionizing the development of innovative medicines and diagnostics, sustainable agriculture, new sources of energy, and environmental remediation. And with the advent and integration of big data and artificial intelligence in the field of biotechnology, we are truly entering a new era that promises to transform our world, says Roman Szumski, Vice-president, Life Sciences, National Research Council of Canada.


Five scientific tracks will be featured, namely :

- Biotechnology foundations and innovations;
- Pharmaceutical and health biotechnologies;
- Agricultural, forest and marine biotechnologies;
- Industrial and environmental biotechnologies:
- And Bioenergy and biorefinery.  

The event will also feature a one-day business track targeting industry professionals.
 

IBS2018 is a unique opportunity to discover the latest trends in biotechnology, to exchange ideas with participants from 50 countries, and take in over 150 presentations over the four days of the event. Early bird registrants save $200 before July 3, 2018.
