Algorithms and “-omics”: using the power of statistics to serve patients
GÉNOME QUÉBEC AND BIOQUÉBEC PANEL
The result of disruptive technology, “omic” data is at the very heart of the competitive research being conducted in the industry and in academic settings.
However, the success of this shift remains a sizeable challenge: how to obtain patient data to develop accessible and profitable tests as well as protect this data and integrate the tests, along with any new customized drugs, into our healthcare system. The ultimate goal is to allow the general public to benefit from major therapeutic advances. These are important issues which require creativity, expertise, and a firm willingness to work cooperatively. But if the integration of smart systems into hospital settings is the key to this success, would Québec be ready to make the shift?
Génome Québec and BIOQuébec present a Master Classled by Sarah Jenna, Ph.D., Cofounder and CEO of My Intelligent Machines (MIMs) and Alexandre Le Bouthillier, Ph.D., co-founder and director of operations, Imagia. A conversation moderated by Joanne Castonguay, Economist, Director of Research, Institut de recherche en politiques publiques will follow this presentation. As part of this conversation, we will also have the pleasure of welcoming Paul L'Archevêque, Director of the Bureau de l’innovation.
